Weekly Athletics Update!

Red Devil Fans,

Spring Week 8 saw a ton of exciting Red Devil Action. The Softball Team picked up 3 wins, the Baseball picked up 2 wins, Christian Vasil won the Thrower of the Meet at Bellwood and the JH Girls T&F Team dominated the Bellefonte Invite! Below are the highlights from last week and attached is the Red Devil Recap, and the Spring Week 9 Event Schedule and Transportation Schedule!
Highlights from last week:
The Varsity Softball Team had a DOMINANT WEEK with great pitching, excellent defense and an offensive outburst, picking up 3 wins over Penn Cambria (15-4), Bedford (12-2) and Richland (10-0). Senior night will be Monday 10/6 at 5pm.
The Varsity Baseball Team picked up 2 wins this week, overcoming a 9-0 deficit to defeat Penn Cambria (13-9) and then Mercy-Ruled Forest Hills (13-3), JV defeated Penn Cambria (9-6) and Richland (6-5) and JH defeated Chestnut Ridge (9-8).
The Boys Varsity T&F Team defeated Bishop Carrol (89-52) and Bishop Guilfoyle (120-17). They placed 4th at the Bellwood invite and were led by 1st Place Finishers; Dom Kuntz (3200), Dom Micco (Disc) and Chrsitain Vasil (Shot Put). Christian was also named the Thrower of the Meet. The Boys went on to place 11th at the Altoona Mt. Lion Classic this past Friday. The JH Team defeated Chestnut Ridge (129-8) and placed 4th at the Bellefonte Invite were led by the following 1st Place Finishers; the DMR (Bearer, Takacs, Brannigan, McFadden) Joe Giles (High Jump), Joe McFadden (800) and Reed Takacs (1600).The Girls Varsity T&F Team defeated Bishop Carrol (85-51) and Bishop Guilfoyle (107-29). They placed 5th at the Bellwood invite and were led by 1st Place finishers the 4x800 (Brandis, Long, Sheehan, Sheehan). The JH Team defeated Chestnut Ridge (117-24) and DOMINATED the Bellefonte Invite winning the invite by 70 points over runners up State College. They were led by the following 1st Place Finishers; Hannah Amigh (Pole Vault), Coreigh Anderson (Disc), Delaney Snyder (3200) and Adriana Wanyo (Triple Jump).
